@mynameistillian It sounds like you have a hardware issue, likely RAM. I would recommend running memtest86+ for a bit to see if it shows any errors.

I spent a lot of time in the 90s working on Y2K. It wasn't a huge panic. It was just a slice out of everything else we spent auditing code. It wasn't "spend 80 hours a week fixing this." It was just boring. Incredibly boring. And we made it be ok by being bored and fixing stuff.

And the one thing I never thought would happen was that people would say it was never a problem. Oh good grief, it was a problem. All over. We just fixed it. Like we thought grownups should do when there's a problem.

Very curious bug, I wonder how often it happens and we don’t notice. Text updates seem to propagate fairly quickly in comparison.

@jiri.kalina@pixelfed.cz @ObsidianUrbex If you view the post on mstdn.social it shows the fixed picture. My Instance and I guess others, still shows the older cached error message/white image. Guess we just have to wait and see if/when our respective servers update.

I’m planning on attempting to spin off some services using a pretty low end mini-pc and a cable modem. A lot of people are still stuck with only cable as an option and that tends to come with heavily limited upload speeds so my plan is to see what the limits are on a typical 50mbps upload in terms of running services like jellyfin or pleroma. A lot of this stuff is already easily run over Tor so a 50mbps connect should be more then enough for a handful of users.

I love how organic the growth of this project has been so far. I’m not sure how active everyone is but seeing over 100+ users a month, with new sign ups on things regularly is pretty great.

My main goal is to encourage other people to run things at home, and I’m trying to do that in the most slacker friendly way possible.

The thing with Maduro being arrested in his own country and brought to USA to face changes really puts all those sovereign citizen “lawyers” into an interesting position. Like sure their arguments are complete non-sense but even if they where valid, how are you going to argue anything other then “might makes right” in a world where you can just kidnap a head of state and charge them with wanting machine guns.

Narco Terrorism i sort of understand, but how tf do you charge a head of state with both owning a machine gun and the conspiracy to own more machine guns? Is that just like so they have something to offer to drop in a plea bargain?
