i was gonna make a joke about how silly this is but instead i just played with it in my address bar for like 10 minutes
well played @Vivaldi
Discord gets worse, so everyone migrates from Discord to Some Other VC-Backed Chat App.
A VPN gets served with a lawful court order, so instead of asking βwhy does my anonymity depend on a corporation being capable of ignoring the legal system?β, everyone starts yelling that the VPN provider is evil.
This is learning the wrong lesson.
The lesson of enshittification is not: βfind the next benevolent corporation.β
The lesson is βstop giving corporations unnecessary control over the infrastructure of your life.β

Wow someone actually using our services to harass people, thatβs a first.
the user @milliways has been deleted, new sign up are now disabled for a bit.
If anyone has old Xitter accounts they arenβt using, I could do with a few more to put in rotation on my public nitter instance. Suspended accounts work fine too, just needs to be able to see the public timeline.
Currently getting rate limits about 33% of the time, but as my instance is now the last one standing I expect traffic might pickup a bit.
The perfect privacy phone setup:
JMP $5/mo VOIP Calling/SMS to XMPP
SimJuno $1/gb/mo eSim provider for data only service.
SMSPool.net For those pesky times when services want a βrealβ number and wont work with VOIP.
All accept crypto payments, no KYC or ID required.
https://nitter.gravitywell.xyz is now up and running. You can replace x.com with βnitter.gravitywall.xyzβ in any twitter URL and get the contents of any posts.
Once its been stable for a while iβll try to make it more known. I was able to get it setup using all suspended accounts which i thought was interesting. There are i think 6 total accounts in rotation with 6 different IPs so it shouldnt hit rate limits too much. It does say its rate limited if you just use the standard search but direct URLs should work if you point to a post.
Introducing βRepo-Yardβ a project that lets you repossess your music from streaming services.
Starting a new service where I will export your entire music library, playlists etc, off of streaming services like Spotify to put it all onto an SD card and mail it to you. Just provide me with the storage device and Iβll do the rest free of charge.
I have no less then 4 shells running opencode right now, Working on 4 different projects. Give a command to one, move to the next while it worksβ¦ Am i βtechnicallyβ more productive, i guess so, these are projects i would not even dream of attempting myself, IM not interested in learning to code beyond the basic level i already can, i would rather idk, do thingsβ¦
But at the same time I fucking hate it and I can feel it making me stupider, Literally like a drug, not one that has bad WD, but one you constantly think about doing more of (because i keep having new things i want to try)
At least Iβm not paying for any of it. Sure its not literally stealing tokens (though i would if i could), but Im pretty sure Iβm violating the ToS of every single provider i use multiple times over.
Was recently reminded that there are AI corps trying to sell the idea of AI βactorsβ as a new thing, itβs not, the 80s called sent a fax: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_actor
Riptide service is now online. This is a new custom service that performs meta search across various audio streaming providers and can download the best available quality of albums or even entire discographies, which then gets imported into NaviDromeβs Library.
UPDATE: Riptide has been replaced with RepoYard
A native Silent Hill 1 PC port based on the decomp project is now fully playable! The project is actively in development and more improvements are coming
Hereβs the BIN game data for those who arenβt clutching pearls over usage of spicy auto-predict to port a 30 year old game:
Major update: Last week the CPU in our primary media server was replaced and we FINALLY resolved the issue of the system locking up. So as of now the GravityWell JellyFin is officially back up.
In the very long process of troubleshooting this issue down to the very last part we could replace without calling it a βnewβ computer, all the other services migrated to other systems ( cluster of 3 old laptops i had laying around). Some of these βclonedβ services will continue to exist on the throbbing.click domain, and over time I will continue to revive the gravitywell equivalents at a pace that i feel comfortable with.
As for the updates/fixes, we have a new Ryzen 9 9500XT, 16c/32t, and the Operating System has been migrated from ArchlLinux to Debian. While Iβm still sticking with arch (cachyOS Specifically), for my personal desktop, I have too many systems to admin at this point Debian is what I know best and its (testing/sid is) a much slower rolling release.
Lastly for now, Iβll probably make a dedicated post about this later but RipTide is a little project iβve been vibe coding (without paying shit to AI companies) to make downloading music easier. Currently it supports Tidal, Qobuz and BandCamp, with plans for more soon. The main purpose for it is importing to the gravitywell library but I see no reason not to also allow downloading too. Itβs not really finished yet, but its mostly functional enough to be worth checking out.
It amuses me how half assed every single corps βanti botβ or βanti fraudβ systems work. Like they are so easily triggered for false positives and so not ever triggered when iβm actually scraping massive amounts of content from their services. And then when they do βcatchβ something they think is unwanted they try to stop it by just blocking the IP address.
Iβm doing this shit for entertainment and I have like 300 VPN servers and pretty much unlimited residential proxy access, If i wanted to do harm, or scrape your web service, there is nothing your underpaid and unmotivated IT staff can do to stop me.
I can just Imagine how easy it is for actual criminals wanting to do actual crimes like stealing personal information.
Why donβt any of these corps selling PCs just go back to DDR4. Its literally half the price, CPUs are cheaper too, but both still well stocked and in production.
When DDR4 came out no one gave a shit because DD3 was already βgood enoughβ for most people. RAM was already good enough for the average PC user in the early 00s.
No game requires DDR5 or even noticably would benefit from having DDR5 speeds over DDR5 the difference is not something humans could even notice.
I always think of this image when theres a good sale going
