3.2TiB and growing. YT-DLP is a fucking champ! I donβt even know how Iβm not getting rate limited more often, it happens once in a while but at least 1/2 of this is from the past week when i added a bunch of new syncs with 1,000s of videos posted

Cthulhu is my Home Server, it hosts most of the media services and a few other things. 64gb RAM with a Ryzen 3600X and a 90TB RAID0
Zion {VPS} #statistics for Feb 2026
This runs the majority of services now. Its 3 cores of a Ryzen 3950 with 12GB of ram and a shared 10gb connection.
The only services not hosted on this are ones that require access to the large storage array in my home server (Peertube, Jellyfin, navidrome, Romm)
{my home router}βs #Statistics for Feb 2026
Its so cool having a router that can run docker containers.
So its seems that although peertube itself properly backdates synced videos, they still get posted to the fedi-feed as new posts.
Not ideal, but I dont think thereβs much i can do about it.
GravityWellβs Peertube now up to over 2TB of media.
What you can do right now to help civilians in #Iran, with minimal effort:
Install the #Snowflake plugin in your browser, and just enable it. No other config is required.
The plugin makes the Tor network available to people in countries with heavy #censorship, so they can bypass it and get information from abroad.

Boost appreciated.
I donβt miss dial up speeds, but I do kinda miss dialing up to connect, not being on 24/7, chat applications where being βofflineβ meant people just literally could not message you other than email.
Google requires verified accounts to use their AntiGravity software and Gemini Pro stuff, mainly because theyβre only interested in giving you a free taste if you might become addicted enough to become a paying customer.
So my trick is to just have a dozen accounts that I rotate between as each one hits usage limits. I started doing it first just with Cursor, and i still use that too, but Anti-gravity gives access to Claude and the usage limits are separate from the limits for Gemini. With all of it combined I have more then enough usage to do whatever i want without paying any of these corps a dime.
Also, dear Very Serious PeopleTM - please pick one:
Either everyone saying billionaires are plotting together to run the world as a fascist dystopia is "unhinged conspiracy theories"
OR
Yes everyone knows rich people plot together to ruin our lives for their benefit on the regular.
It cannot be both. Either you were wrong BEFORE when you said it was all Alex Jones shit, or you're wrong now and the contents of the emails are in fact HIGHLY incriminating.
Pick one.
Your reps need to hear from you - daily! Call them.(thanks to https://www.5calls.org/ )

If I did this as a professional employment type of job it would be a nightmare. I have the most major respect for admins of larger instances and probably also have some kind of a day job in the it profession, IDK how yaβll find the energy.
This is why I run my own things, I want to be able to break them and learn from the mistakes i make. Sometimes I might just say fuck it and nuke the entire service, but usually even when i end up doing that i still learn something about what not to do next time.
So what this means going forward is essentially less data getting backed up frequently, but living dangerously in terms of potentially losing uploaded content.
YES! Fixed the problems i created by migrating uploads.
Well I think upload directories for lemmy, akkoma, and Prometheus have all been migrated correctly but seeing as all the old stuff except Prometheus broke i must have done something wrong. It might be something i can fix later, but i didnβt take an extra back and i dont feel like reverying to the one that was done 4 days ago.
Well it seems i broke all the media when i tried to move some things⦠oh well, it needed to get done.
