Going to do a bit of an experiment with Jellyfin hosted on the VPS using remote NFS mounts to the media
βUtah Governor Spencer Cox called the Internet a βcancerβ yesterday; today, βcancer probably isnβt a strong enough word,β likening social media to βfentanylβ in destroying young minds and taking lives:
βWe have seen an escalation in violence that has been happening across the country. β¦ I donβt think a governor, I donβt think a president, and I donβt think anyone can change the trajectory of this. It truly is about every single one of us.
And I canβt emphasize enough the damage that social media and the Internet is doing to all of us. Those dopamine hits. These companies, trillion dollar market caps and the most powerful companies in the history of the world have figured out how to hack our brains, get us addicted to the outrage which is the same type of dopamine, the same chemical that you get from taking fentanyl and get us addicted to outrage and getting us to hate each other.
Iβve seen it in real time since the death of Charlie Kirk. Iβve seen it in every corner of our society. The conflict entrepreneurs are taking advantage of us and we are losing our agency, and we have to take that back. We have to turn it off, and do you have to give it back to the community and caring about our neighbors and bettering ourselves, exercising, sleeping and all of these things that this thing takes away from us.β

I decided to move Pleroma back onto my home server instead of the VPS. It was usable on the VPS but the cpu usage was a bit much
I normally have a pretty averse reaction to real gore but Iβm super into fake gore, and watching Charlie Kirk die gives me the same kind of feelings a good horror movie killing would.
Best Video of the shooting iβve found circulating so far.
#GravityWellxYz update: Things are mostly working but for various reasons here and there Iβve been rebooting and doing things that might cause intermittent short down times. Sorry For the inconvenience
Donβt yβall see? WEAPONIZE THIS. The entire system relies upon your participation and they cannot force you to comply, only threaten you with deprivation if you donβt. And youβre already suffering deprivation, arenβt you? Youβre not paid enough to live comfortable anyway. You canβt afford the stuff they want you to buy anyway. So why keep running on the same fucking treadmill?
Remember how the pandemic just scared the shit out of everyone? How having less consumers and less employees killed off entire industries? And that was by accident. Do you get that if you simply stopped buying anything but survival stuff you could tank these companies?
They donβt think the way you do. Theyβre beholden to shareholders who demand not only a return on investment but perpetual growth, and who are skittish as newborn colts. If you can reduce sales for a given company in a given year by 10%, youβve fucked them. Doesnβt matter how many billions they make, youβre still spooking their investors and the market, which is based on absolutely nothing but vibes. Literally nothing else. You can cause chaos by causing doubt. The best part is, you can just straight up say thatβs what youβre doing and it wonβt make any difference.
General labor and consumer strikes will absolutely wreak havoc. Theyβll go on CNN and rant like lunatics: BUY STUFF! JUST BUY ANYTHING! AND COME TO WORK! Because they can arrest you for protesting and they can arrest you for sabotaging pipelines, but they cannot arrest you for not buying shit and not going to work.
You would have to face the possible consequences, but would you rather be scared and stressed because some rich asshole decided to wring another dollar profit out of you or because you were standing up against fascism and trying to turn humans into machines fit only to work and die?
General strikes in 2025. Decide to do it and do it.
Ugh, something about the latest firmware update from GliNet for my router really broked the VPN stuff. Normally I have my setup to relay all traffic over mullvad as a client and the router itself acts as a vpn relay to anything connected to it⦠guess its time to move that stuff over to Zion too.
Another cool trick you can do, you may have heard the term βwash tradingβ, and how its technically not allowed and youβll get in big trouble if you do it. Basically its when you purposely sell at a loss so that you can write it off on your taxes, but then you buy back about the same amount within a short period and keep holding it.
But this practice is totally legally if you do it with cryptocurrency, the rule literally DOES NOT APPLY. Now I want to be clear, cryptocurrency is not something you should consider an βinvestmentβ, but the one thing crypto is great for is money laundering, and boy howdy can you do a lot of it without actually breaking any laws just by leveraging that exception to the wash trading rule with crypto.
Follow me for more #InvestmentAdvice Tips and Tricks on how you too can use the legal loopholes formerly limited to the rich and well connected.
Maybe if enough of us start doing this stuff theyβll actually figure out how to make billionaires pay their damn taxes.
You donβt actually have to be that rich to do thisβ¦. Check it:
Get yourself a robinhood account, enable margin withdrawl. Invest ALL your money into a few stable ETFs that just track the market (or go crazy and invest it all in TSLA or something, Iβm not your daddy). Now you can just loan yourself money while your investment assets increase in value over timeβ¦ OR if they decrease, you can write off $3000 worth of βcapital lossesβ every year (possibly more, if you run a βbusinessβ or something) .
There are a lot of these kind of βtricksβ that previously only the wealthy could do before retail investing was so common.
Edit: Reason i say robinhood specifically, not that they are a great corp or anything, its just they happen to have the cheapest rates on their margin loans, it list 5% APY wich is less then pretty much any other kind of loan you could get. If you know of other services that offer good rates please let me know because I hate RH and would rather use almost anyone else.
How many times do these shitty fucking credit bureaus have to get hacked and exposed as less then useless before people lose faith in them?
New, from me:
The recent mass-theft of authentication tokens from Salesloft, whose AI chatbot is used by a broad swath of corporate America to convert customer interaction into Salesforce leads, has left many companies racing to invalidate the stolen credentials before hackers can exploit them. Now Google warns the breach goes far beyond access to Salesforce data, noting the hackers responsible also stole valid authentication tokens for hundreds of online services that customers can integrate with Salesloft, including Slack, Google Workspace, Amazon S3, Microsoft Azure, and OpenAI.

Incidentally, there has been some truly awful reporting perpetrated around the periphery of this story that needs to be called out as irresponsible bullshit. Newsweek uncritically reported today the names of Google employees who were being threatened by the threat actors who claim (with little convincing evidence) to be responsible.
And Trend Micro's blog put out what I can only assume is AI-produced slop drivel because it basically claimed that a few hundred Google Workforce accounts that were exposed in this Salesloft breach suddenly meant billions of Gmail users were at risk. That Trend atrocity was then of course re-perpetrated to produce even more uncritical garbage "reporting" about this incident. I'm not linking to either, just needed to get that off my chest. It's truly remarkable when Google has to put out a statement talking everyone down off the ledge over this. Pro tip: if you don't track these groups for a living and you don't live and breathe this Com crap, you're probably not going to be able to just parachute in here and write a cool tech story that is also accurate.
