@slashdot Sometimes I read stuff like this and think about how exciting it would be if not for the fact its just one mega corp lunching a service against another megacorp. Its like getting to choose which super villain gets to take advantage of you, Lex Luthor or Bizzaro Superman.

I'm trying to get into the habit of reposing things people send me from other less desirable networks, but obviously we don't want to be linking to or supporting "those sites" if we can help it, so I try to reupload the content myself when possible.

History sure does have a way of repeating itself. 80 Years ago today the OG fascists got what they deserved, lets hope the modern day ones get the same treatment.

I have yet to even create a code of conduct or terms of service for this instance. I may leave sign ups open but I really want to encourage everyone to at least TRY self-hosting a federated service. There are a lot of options and some are extremely easy to deploy and use single user setups.
